Horizontal challenge
Tiles laid at Kings Square by Y Not Tiling provide a hardwearing, eye-catching surface
Granite tiles create an eye-catching feature in the large central square between the apartment buildings and railway station at Kings Square. They also help bring a feeling of community to the large area.
Y Not Tiling won the contract to lay the granite tiles in the station square and on the railway platform. To meet the architect's design brief, the company's experienced team of tilers laid the 600mm x 300mm granite tiles to create a complicated pattern, using a variety of colours.
Company owner Kenny Ko says that as well as achieving the complex pattern specified for the project, his team of tilers also had to monitor the tiles to ensure the surface of the square remained smooth and level.
Y Not Tiling also supplied and installed ceramic tiles in the kitchens and bathrooms, and on the decks of the 492 apartments, as well as along the access walkways throughout the buildings.
With more than 10 years' experience working on both large and small projects, Y Not Tiling has developed relationships with many tile and stone suppliers. The company employs skilled tradesmen to ensure the highest possible installation standards, and workmanship is supported by manufacturers' warranties.
