Home for all seasons Palliside cladding
Palliside weatherboards minimise maintenance
Weekends are made for relaxing and maybe for entertaining friends and family. But for many homeowners, weekends seem to be more about house maintenance.
To ensure the cladding of this new home would never need painting, architectural designer Marc Coulthard of MDC Architecture specified Palliside weatherboards.
Palliside is a solid weatherboard with a foamed cellular core and a UV-resistant top coat, which is impervious to denting and chipping. Manufactured to stand up to New Zealand's climate extremes and coastal conditions, the weatherboards have an interlocking design with hidden nailing, which prevents moisture from getting behind the boards. This helps to ensure they won't rot, warp or peel.
For this project, Palliside with the Traditional bevel-back profile in the colour Riverstone was chosen to contrast with the dark Ironsand roof colour. The new 8m-long weatherboards were used on long spans to avoid visible joins.
