It's the personal touches which reflect an owner's sense of style that transform a house into a home. An object such as a strategically placed light fitting can be all that is required to express an individual design statement.

Another light fixture designed as an aesthetic centrepiece is the Elm fitting. Available in 20 or 30 light fittings, it consists of small G9 halogen lights that are attached to steel rods. Each light provides a strong glow that offers an effect similar to bright burning candles.

"The Elm light is akin to an art piece it has the wow factor," says Fulford. "Positioned above a dining table it has a sculptural appeal that makes it different to just a functional light piece."

In addition to a hanging light, the Elm is available as a 15-light floor lamp and a 10-light table lamp. This enables homeowners to create a suite of lights throughout open-plan living and dining areas.
