Cladding is a major part of any tower development and this project was no different, with a particularly stringent transfer of design, build, performance and guarantee obligations.The new Deloitte Centre is clad with a sophisticated, high-quality, integrated cladding package that includes the latest generation high-performance glass technology available to achieve a 5-Star Green Star rating.Stainless steel feature cladding provides high levels of durability in the corrosive marine environment of Auckland's CBD and a twin skin installed on the northwest-facing facade assisted the building to achieve the 5-Star Green Star rating. To date, this facade has the best performance of any design solution provided by Thermosash to the New Zealand construction market.The building's curtainwall, which incorporates an insulated shadowbox spandrel to the non-vision areas, is designed as a thermally rated product. The facade includes fire, smoke and acoustic ratings horizontally between floors.The structural glass solution installed in the main entry incorporates some of the largest and heaviest panes of glass ever used in New Zealand to provide a frameless aesthetic with minimalistic secondary support and structural, frameless glass revolving doors.
