"The owners wanted to make the most of the position, so it was important that the pool did not restrict the view," he says. "Working with the client, we designed a 10m x 3m pool with an infinity edge on two sides. Because the pool sits on the edge of the cliff, it was a particularly challenging exercise. There are 14 piles, each 5.5m deep, holding the pool in place, while the concrete block walls and fibreglass liner ensure it never moves."

The saltwater pool, which is finished in Pisa Blue, is heated by solar panels, and features a hidden roller cover supplied by the Zodiac Group. Handmade coping stone provides a clean-lined edge.
