Healthy air
Moisture and VOCs are quietly and efficiently removed from your bathroom with Panasonic WhisperGreen¢ ventilation fans
Modern homes are generally designed and built to create a seal for optimal energy efficiency, reducing heating bills and keeping your home warm in winter and cool in summer. The same seal means indoor air and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are trapped inside and, in the bathroom, moisture will accumulate.
Dan Hogan, president of Panasonic Home and Environment Company, says maintaining proper home ventilation is necessary for family health.
"We really should not be breathing these pollutants, so installing a quiet bathroom ventilation fan allows the homeowner to reduce the levels of VOCs simply and easily," he says.
Hogan says there are several things to consider when looking for a bathroom ventilation fan: the size of the bathroom, local air quality codes, and the noise level the owner can tolerate.
"If a fan's noise is obtrusive, it is less likely to be used and will therefore be less effective at reducing moisture and improving indoor air quality."
Panasonic's new WhisperGreen¢ series uses a wide blower wheel that moves large amounts of air at reduced revolutions per minute, which contributes to its ultra-quiet operation. These ventilation fans' long life can be attributed to their fully enclosed motors, galvanized housings and thermal fuse protection features.
WhisperGreen ventilation fans use a DC motor to overcome the problem of inexact installation. This motor allows the fan to compensate for changes in pressure for proper air flow. Other models feature the SmartAction® Motion Sensor, which has an adjustable delay timer, so the fan continues to run after the bathroom is vacated.
