The Saunders Wharf apartments receive a great deal of sunlight particularly those at penthouse and top-floor level. The penthouse balconies needed to have appropriate awnings and the extensively glazed rooms needed contemporary blinds to provide shade and privacy throughout.

Hugh Meagher & Associates supplied and installed the motorised awnings and chain-operated roller blinds for the development. Both products needed to be functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Project manager Bruce Mackie says the internal blinds are easily upgradeable.

"If new owners move in and want to change the roller blinds to a motorised system, the chain controls can be swapped out without having to change the hardware," he says.

Motorised blinds can be operated by wall switches, remote control or a fully integrated automation system.

The company's full range of products includes drapery, tracks and soft furnishings. These are supplied to the commercial, hospitality and residential markets.

The company's range of blinds includes timber, venetian, roman and external blinds. Timber shutters and panel glides are also available. Every product is professionally installed.

"No job too large, no job too small," says Mackie. "We are currently working on projects in four cities in Australia and others internationally, but our products are equally suited to most residential projects."
