When it comes to waiting rooms, a ferry terminal probably offers a more interesting outlook than most the waterfront action is all part of the fun of taking a boat trip.

To maximise this experience for passengers at the new Auckland ferry terminal, the architects designed extensive double-height glazing on all sides.

Framerite Installations supplied and installed Fletcher Aluminium 150mm Oakley architectural windows to form the curtain wall around the building. The joinery features silver anodised aluminium joinery, chosen for its ability to withstand the salty sea air.

Evergreen glass was also specified with the location in mind the dark green colour of the glass helps reduce the glare of the sun. A variety of thicknesses were supplied to enable the glazing to meet specific wind loadings, depending on the specific application.

Framerite Installations also supplied and installed Luminex glazing bars to overhead canopies within the complex. These feature similar Evergreen glass panels and silver anodised aluminium.

Oakley Systems joinery is engineered for design flexibility. It can be used in isolation or different systems combined to create eye-catching aesthetics.
