Gone bush
All the soft landscaping at Albany Senior High School was undertaken by Ace Landscapes
The native bush setting of Albany Senior High School is reflected in the landscaping plan developed by the Jasmax designers. Rod Frost of Ace Landscapes, the company contracted to undertake all the soft landscaping for the school, says the planting is a reflection of the surrounding landscape.
"The margins of the playing fields, for example, have been planted intensely, so the landscaping will eventually merge with the bush beyond. All the trees and shrubs are native and eco-sourced for the local area. The fields feature a mix of leptosporum, phormiums, cordylines, coprosma, cortideria, and dappled with podocarpus, corokia, pseudopanax, and rhapistylis."
Rod Frost says the project also involved the supply and spreading of large volumes of imported soil mixes, and specialised mixes for the rain garden area. These gardens have been planted with mature metrosideros, agathis and cordylines, and underplanted with phormium, carex and astelias.
Ace Landscapes covers all aspects of landscaping, including design, construction and maintenance, but the company's speciality is soft landscaping, lawns, and getting projects finished on time.
