Designers and homeowners seeking alternatives to traditional bathroomware are looking at glass as a modern statement
It wasn't so long ago that the only bathroom fittings available were white and ceramic. While ceramic basins are still popular today, homeowners and designers looking for a modern edge are increasingly turning to glass.
Newtech is a company specialising in importing and distributing specialist glass products. It also distributes locally made glassware and traditional timber vanities. Newtech's design manager says the versatility of glass is one reason for its increased popularity.

New to the Newtech range is the Waterfall faucet. This modern bathroom accent has a plate of glass that allows water to gently cascade into the sink.
Newtech also distributes Virage Vessells. Manufactured locally using traditional firing techniques, these ceramic bowls are available in myriad shapes and colours. To complement these basins Newtech suggests Slumped Glass Mirrors, which are fired at high temperatures and slumped over moulds, to provide a focal point for the bathroom.
