The low-profile roofs at Carlaw Park comply with zoning regulations and building codes
Height restrictions at Carlaw Park meant the roof lines were kept low. A flat roof would have been impractical, so the solution was a low pitch that could carry away rainwater without blocking the neighbours' views and light.
For the main commercial building, Steel Roofing Ltd installed the technologically proven multirib¢ profile, supplied by Roofing Industries Ltd. The superior strength of the profile design, along with its generous capacity for carrying water, made it a perfect match for the low pitch of the roof, says Brent Botha, managing director of Steel Roofing Ltd.
"The result was a simple, cost-effective, water-tight roofing envelope," Botha says.
Pre-painted with Colorcote ZR8 by Pacific Coilcoaters in Gull Grey, the roof colour complements the natural grey-brown tones of the concrete panels that clad both buildings.
Along with the 2700m² roof, Steel Roofing Ltd installed the flashings on the Quest hotel and the adjoining five-storey carpark.
"With more than 20 years' experience and our team's specialised skills, we were really suited to a project of this stature," Botha says.
