Using environmentally friendly methods, Tiling Waterproofing Services carried out work on Green Square.
Tiling and waterproofing are services that often require a great deal of caustic products, such as strong-smelling fixatives and sealers. The Green Building Council requirements call for the use of products with low levels of volatile organic compounds (VOC) when these services are being performed. VOCs are chemical compounds that have a high enough vapour pressure to dissolve into normal atmosphere.
Tiling Waterproofing Services used low-VOC products, supplied by Architectural Structural Adhesives, when carrying out interior and exterior tiling, anti-graffiti coatings, and waterproofing of internal wet areas for Green Square.
"These low-VOC products give the same results, but are better for the environment and for the people who use them. While they let off some fumes, they aren't carcinogenic, so we didn't require the use of protective masks when applying them," says Doug Foster from Tiling Waterproofing Services.
In sealing the carparks, Durafloor HD was the chosen VOC-compliant product. This product hardens, dust-proofs and seals dry concrete and because it doesn't need to be flushed off after application, it is better for the environment.
