From scratch
Designer Dee Dee Ackerman loved everything about this newly built home except the interior fit-out. So she pulled it all out and started over
Glass is a popular material to use when redesigning a bathroom. It gives a fresh, contemporary look, and can be easily cleaned.
Ackerman specified glass mirror surrounds and glass saloon doors from Cydonia The Glass Studio for the bathrooms in her home.
Saloon doors were chosen for the powder room toilet because the area was too small to accommodate a single door.
The glass mirror surround was custom made in a similar color to the glass basins, and features a subtle fern pattern.
Cydonia's Anthony Makk says clients are always involved in the design process.
"Clients are consulted during the creative process of drawing up designs. We work with them so they are happy with the final design before we make it," he says.
Cydonia products are available worldwide, and the company has just opened a new architectural glass gallery in San Francisco.
