Technology with style defines every new appliance in the Italian Smeg collection
Renowned international architects and designers have an eye for detail, which is not only applicable to architecture and interior design they are also influencing the design of kitchen appliances.
Italian appliance manufacturer Smeg has enlisted the talents of leading architect Renzo Piano and designer Marc Newson in its latest collection. This ensures every appliance has an unmistakable styling. And it's not just the aesthetics that sets the Smeg collection apart. Each appliance is also designed for good ergonomics, performance and durability.
But even though the appliances are manufactured in Italy, they are designed to suit the American market, says Sonja Dettori, operations manager, US market.
"All our products are UL and ETL certified, which means they comply with US standards."
Dettori says clients also appreciate the fact that they can have the latest European designs at a competitive price.
The complete collection, including the '50s-inspired Retro FAB28U refrigerator shown here, can be seen at the Smeg showroom in the A&D Building.
