Seen at the Abt Electronics Store in Glenview, Illinois, this kitchen by Detail Kitchens features custom cabinetry pieces from Plato Woodwork a company specializing in environmentally friendly cabinetry.
Detail Kitchens' creative application of finishes, moldings, and wood species is reflected in the traditional-look kitchen.
"For example, the cabinets all have beaded inset doors with exposed hinges," she says. "They are painted white, with a hand-glazed finish on the perimeter cabinets and quarter-sawn white oak on the island. Custom radiused crown moldings add extra flourish to the island ends."
