Fresh approach
It can take an outsider to see the true potential of your home. As these award-winning projects illustrate, NKBA designers know exactly what to do
For most people, a bathroom remodeling project is a rare undertaking, which makes it all the harder to work out the best design solution.
It's not such a problem for members of the National Kitchen & Bath Association, however. NKBA designers and manufacturers are familiar with all the latest design trends and products.
The expertise of members of the NKBA Chicago Midwest chapter is recognized each year in the Design Visions competition. Projects, such as the award-winning entries shown on these pages, are judged on a raft of criteria, including visual appeal, safety, structural feasibility, ventilation and ergonomics.
Chicago Midwest chapter president Linc Yates CKD, says NKBA members keep up with current trends by attending professional development courses that raise the bar for kitchen and bath design.
"NKBA members have a wealth of experience in finding solutions to specific design challenges," Yates says. "Your bathroom may be an unusual or awkward shape, for example, or it may be small. NKBA designers will ensure nothing is overlooked in respect to its functionality. They can also source products and materials at competitive rates, which means there are financial benefits as well."
