This grandly proportioned French Provincial home is built using as pure a form of the style as is possible with today's materials
The cabinets in this kitchen needed to be functional to meet the requirements of the homeowner an enthusiastic gourmet cook.
Steve Janik, of Romar Cabinet and Top, says all the cabinetry in the kitchen was custom made.
"No one had as many requirements as this homeowner. She is a wonderful cook who needed her kitchen to be highly functional," he says.
The homeowner asked for one section of the bench to be lowered, so it would be the correct height for using a rolling pin.
The kitchen cabinets were painted, then glazed with a specially formulated terra cotta color to match the floor tiles.
Cabinets were custom made for every room in the house, including the bar, office, butler's pantry, and bathroom. A special feature was a built-in dog enclosure in the laundry, so the homeowner can keep the dog out of the way when guests arrive.
Romar cabinets are available in a variety of wood species including oak, birch, and cherry. All cabinetry is handcrafted and hand-sanded.
