French fancy

This French-style kitchen was a creative exercise in blending contemporary features with old world flair for the designers from Design Galleria Kitchen & Bath Studio.

Full of hidden features, this relatively small and narrow kitchen includes all the modern appliances you would expect, tucked away within the pewter-glazed perimeter cabinetry.

The two built-in refrigerators each have freezer drawers below. Each part has a matching custom door front. An adjacent pair of doors, paneled to look like another pair of large refrigerators, open onto a coffee-making area complete with built-in coffee machine, and walk-in pantry.

Much attention has been paid to the finer decorative details. A niche above the cooktop has French blue glass tiles arranged in a herringbone pattern. The butler's pantry has diamond-patterned glass doors. The upholstery on the dining chairs repeats the diamond pattern. A pendant lamp made of pewter hovers over the mahogany table extension to the island, which stands on intricately carved legs. The windows are also mahogany, and were made in France.
