This new home fuses Continental flavours with Australian indoor-outdoor flow
As more of us spend time overseas, we're looking to bring elements of international design back home without losing our sense of Australian style.
Chateau Homes worked with the owners of this property on Sydney's North Shore to combine elements of European design and strong indoor-outdoor flow, says Carolyn Foxton of Chateau Homes.
"The house has a leafy backdrop and the design focuses on natural light rooms have windows to more than one aspect, which allows the sun to illuminate the interior in a changing pattern as the day progresses," she says.
European influence is evident in the handcrafted arched windows and tapered columns of the interior, and the arched doorways and fanlights inside.
"The owners' choice of Versace floor tiles brings an opulent look to the home. The tiles are also used outside, which blurs the boundaries between inside and out."
Chateau Homes designs and constructs contemporary and classic custom homes in and around Sydney.
"To ensure that every client builds a home that reflects their own taste and lifestyle, we work closely with specialist teams, from the interior decorator to the colourists and the pool contractors. And because we work from the client's initial ideas to the completion of the home, we are able to keep tight control on costs and timings," she says.
