Forward thinking
From the ergonomic design to the programme selection the technology behind Fisher & Paykel's new DishDrawer provides a host of benefits
It's invariably the work that goes on behind the scenes that determines the success of a new appliance. The research and development may take years, but the results can change the way we work forever.
Fisher & Paykel's new DishDrawer is a prime example. The appliance that caught the imagination of homeowners around the world when it was first released, has been fine-tuned and updated to better reflect the way we work and play.
Roger Bridge, Fisher & Paykel's New Zealand marketing manager, says the ergonomics and aesthetics that helped establish the DishDrawer's reputation are still driving the design. But the new technology and styling make it even easier to match appliances to clients' needs.
Homeowner Louise Smith, who recently moved house and purchased her second set of DishDrawers, says ergonomics was right alongside aesthetics in influencing her choice.
"The single DishDrawers are positioned just below the counter, so there is no need for me to bend to load and unload dishes," she says. "I also appreciate the fact that any spills or splashes that occur when loading are contained within the drawer. With a teenage family, having two separate DishDrawers means I never have dirty dishes on the benchtop."
For most households, two single DishDrawers, or a Double DishDrawer, provide the ideal capacity. As these dishwashers operate independently, you can stack dishes in one, while a load is being washed in the other. Having two DishDrawers allows you to separate glasses and crockery from pots and pans for light and heavy-duty washes.
Bridge says many households are also looking for appliances to complement their kitchen design.
"With three families of appliances each with its own defined style Fisher & Paykel now presents the opportunity to do just that," he says.
"No matter what style of kitchen you have, it's easy to create a uniform look. And appliances within each collection have been designed to complement each other, from the shape of the handles to the surface styling."
Bridge says the appliances come in a range of finishes, including Iridium stainless steel.
All Fisher & Paykel appliances come with a two-year parts and labour warranty.
