For generations to come
With its traditional character and refined interior, this East Coast shingle house typifies the architectural vision and structural precision of every home built by Erotas Building Corporation
Around the turn of the last century, many gracious family homes were built on the Eastern Seaboard. One of the renowned architectural teams behind the East Coast shingle style was McKim, Mead and White.
The architecture pioneered by that company influenced the design of this new house built by Erotas Building Corporation a custom residential construction firm founded by David and Holly Erotas in 1992.
President David Erotas says the traditional character of the home, its architectural detailing and sense of permanence typify the firm's work.

"We have long believed that clients invest both a financial and emotional outlay in a new home," he says. "Many clients do not just want a house for today, but a place that will, more than likely, be enjoyed by future generations of the same family. For that reason, we are committed to the utmost care and attention from the foundation right through to the cabinet hardware."
Holly Erotas says the Minnesota firm brings its Midwestern craftsmanship to several select parts of the country. Erotas Building Corporation works with architects and interior designers from many different locales to create homes in a variety of architectural vernaculars.
"From Venetian villas and Georgian estates to Arts & Crafts bungalows and contemporary homes, the firm's portfolio reflects its ability to construct a broad range of styles. But, no matter what the design, all our homes are built to grow more gracious over time. This can only be accomplished with the use of the highest quality materials and craftsmanship, beginning with the core and structure of the home."

In constructing this lakefront home and guest cottage, Erotas Building Corporation undertook extensive millwork to re-create the traditional character both inside and out. Special features include a grand staircase and oval windows with antique-style mullions.
"This house was built for a large family that loves to entertain, so it also features every modern convenience," says Holly Erotas.
