Contemporary furniture is often defined by hard edges and sharp corners, but such fixtures have no place in the bathroom. Smoothly rounded edges and contoured basins and bathtubs contribute to a much more sensual and comfortable bathroom.Kohler's latest bathware collections prove that the feel-good factor does not have to be at the expense of trendsetting design. The Parity¢ cast iron tub, for example, has a clean and contemporary rectangular shape on the outside, but the curves on the inside provide a more comfortable, gentler bathing experience.Michael Wandschneider, marketing manager for bathing products, says the term parity refers to the marriage between form and function that defines the design."The Parity is a smooth, sensual bath that was inspired by nature and the human form," he says. "Both ends of the bath have a gentle, rolled edge that helps create a continuous symmetrical shape. When installed with an exposed deck, the raised rim takes on a more dramatic and decorative aspect." View of a high-end bathroom which features a bathtub from Kohler. Kohler Comfort Depth¢ technology incorporated in this bath provides a slotted overflow that allows a deep soak which maximizes the bathing experience. The Parity cast iron bath has been released in a wide range of colors and features an ultra-thick layer of enamel for added durability. The bathroom shown above right features another recent innovation from Kohler: the Flipside¢ handshower. This handshower offers an easy way to add a little pizzazz to the bathroom. Along with the usual benefits that come from the flexibility of a hand-held shower, the Flipside is also multifunctional.Traditionally, multifunction handshowers feature a single spray face that accommodates all the spray options. With Kohler's Flipstream¢ technology, the spray face rotates on its axis. Each of the four sides of the spray face is dedicated to one of the sprays. This not only provides a greater surface area for an improved spray, but also makes changing between sprays intuitive and effortless. View of a chrome shower head from Kohler. The Flipside handshower is particularly suited to users of all ages, even those with limited hand mobility.Another new collection making waves is the Kohler Reve suite of products. Mick Chandler, vice president of sanitary products says the Reve collection was designed to combine straightforward minimalistic elegance with components that deliver maximum comfort and utility."Great care went into designing fixtures that bring a human touch to a modern aesthetic. There are no sharp edges the corners have been softened and the components combine seamlessly to give the bathroom a modern, yet approachable look."For more information, or details of your nearest distributor, contact Kohler, phone tollfree (800) 4 Kohler (456 4537).
