One of the key benefits of working with a professional designer is the peace of mind they can provide. As well as finding innovative design solutions to tricky problems, National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) members are fully up to date with the latest products and trends.

And one of the ways NKBA designers keep up with new ideas is by attending the annual Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (K/BIS). Barbara Shelton, the new president of the Georgia chapter of the NKBA, says inspirational exhibits and seminars invariably have a flow-on effect for clients.

"The knowledge gained by association designers and manufacturers is always reflected in their work. For homeowners about to undertake a remodeling project, this means they can take advantage of new technologies and products, such as new surfacing materials or hardware."

Shelton says using an NKBA designer remains a cost-effective way to remodel or choose a kitchen for a new home.

"NKBA members can source materials and appliances at competitive rates, which means financial benefits for clients. Our designers also ensure nothing is overlooked when it comes to the functionality of your bathroom or kitchen. Because mistakes can be costly, it is best to get it right first time round."
