The great thing about bathrooms, from a design perspective, is that as a separate space, they provide the opportunity to employ an individualised style.

For the featured bathroom, the owners wanted to create a French Provincial feel, says John Spiteri, bathroom designer for Brindabella Bathrooms.

"This guest bathroom is designed as the centrepiece of the ground floor and had to be low maintenance and practical in design, yet visually appealing as well.

"The new simplified floor plan is not only functional but also provides the client with a balanced and integrated use of classic French-influenced furnishings."

Integral to the design is the vanity designed by Brindabella Bathrooms and constructed by Montague Furniture. The vanity features a floral motif associated with the former province of Bresse.

"Central to the theme of the bathroom is the hand-painted distressed finish on the vanity," says Spiteri. "The Carrara marble vanity top has a lamb's tongue profile to soften the edge, which is further enhanced by the mirror."
