An extended flue system means these Real Flame fireplaces can be installed almost anywhere
Aside from providing warmth, a fireplace can be a centrepiece in a room, producing soft light and dynamic visual effect.
The Power Flue by Real Flame is making it possible to position a fireplace in locations where it could not previously have been installed, such as apartment blocks, high-rise buildings and in areas that do not back onto an external wall. The Power Flue works through a horizontal flue system that extends up to 13.5m, and offers an alternative to the typical chimney outlet for emissions, says Real Flame's national sales manager Jeff Collins.
"This means that it is possible to create such styles as our glass-walled Pure Vision fireplace, which can be enjoyed from all sides. The Pure Vision is also available in an 1800mm-wide version. Safety features include devices that stop the flow of gas in the event of oxygen depletion or flame failure," he says.
Real Flame has design solutions to suit many requirements, including converting an existing conventional fireplace to gas. Its range includes the Pyrotech freestanding double-glazed fireplace, the traditional-look, square, pressed-metal Hotbox, and the large Captiva, which is supplied with a safety grille.
Fireplaces come with ceramic fibre coals, logs or pebbles, or a combination of the three. Most styles are also available in a range of colours and finishes to suit any style of home.
