Flawless finish

Stainless steel appliances have become the benchmark accessory for contemporary kitchens. However, while sleek and hard wearing, they have a tendency to show smudges.

Fortunately, for those who love the look but hate to clean, there is a solution. Iridium offers the appearance and durability of stainless steel, but its matt finish resists greasy marks, says Fisher & Paykel's general manager NZ sales and marketing, Craig Douglas.

"Iridium is easy to keep clean and is a logical alternative to traditional stainless steel and anodised aluminium," says Douglas.

"Consumers are no longer satisfied with good performance and reliability alone. Appliances need to look the part, too," he says. "Iridium's distinctly different finish has a visual appeal. Its almost frosted appearance complements a wide range of bench tops and cabinetry."

Fisher & Paykel's Quantum range of productsare finished in Iridium. The range includes Inox refrigerators, Aeron and Astro ovens, Titan ovens and cooktops, Apex rangehoods and DishDrawers.

"The Active Smart, electronic control system in the Inox refrigerator will detect any increase in temperature or unchilled food," says Douglas. "It then sends cool air to that area. The humidity-controlled vegetable bins help keep fruit and vegetables fresh and crisp."

Because the fridge and freezer compartments are independently controlled, opening one will not affect the other.

Aeron and Astro ovens both boast a 60-litre useable capacity and a 3300W grill. They also feature fully concealed lower elements to make cleaning easy.

Astro ovens also have the flexibility of single, double or tower design options, depending on your requirements.

The double oven features a smaller, lower oven, which is great for reheating and quick meals, while the tower option comprises two full-size multi-function ovens to make entertaining large groups easier.

At the top of the range, Titan is for those whose passion is cooking. Available as a single or double oven, each has a cooking capacity of 100 litres.

"The Titan oven has 10 cooking modes," says Douglas. "The roast function will sear your meat before dropping the temperature to complete the cooking, sealing in the juices and flavour."

To complement its oven line-up, Fisher & Paykel offers a choice of a ceramic or gas cooktops as part of the Titan range.

The slender lines of the ceramic cooktop provide a minimalist look. Hot-surface indicatorsglow amber, even after the cooktop has been turned off, and the recessed surface will contain spills of up to two litres.

Fisher & Paykel's gas cooktop has an award-winning design. It offers complete control, from a low simmer temperature of just 0.5MJ/h, to a 15MJ/h wok burner.

Completing the Iridium cooking family, is the Apex rangehood, which quickly extracts fumes.

DishDrawer is an innovative concept in kitchen technology. Each drawer is a totally independent dishwasher so having a double unit allows you to separate your glassware and crockery from your pots and pans. In this way, one drawer can be set to a delicate cycle, the other to heavy duty to clean your dishes efficiently, without damaging them.

Each DishDrawer has a large, seven-place setting capacity.
