Providing a comfortable work environment isn't just dependent on ergonomic workstations and office layout climate control is also vital.

One of the key factors influencing work conditions in New Zealand is sunlight, and more importantly, UV rays. To ensure offices in the Air New Zealand building received plenty of natural light, yet weren't subjected to glare, temperature extremes and damaging UV rays, the designers specified Luxaflex Sunscreens' Novascreen in Midnight Beige, from NZ Window Shades Ltd.

Luxaflex Sunscreens offer control over natural lighting in the workplace. Their translucent fabric is designed to reduce glare and heat transfer, while protecting interiors from harmful UV rays. They also allow you to look out while preserving the office's daytime privacy.

Luxaflex Sunscreens are particularly useful in situations where there would be glare on computer or television screens. They are also appropriate for most locations, to reduce light reflection.

Luxaflex Sunscreens are made from a fine basket weave of PVC-coated yarn, giving them a sheer mesh-screen feel. They have a textured look achieved by a weave of light and dark yarns.

Suitable for a range of decors, Novascreen is available in 20 Colourfast material colours, with white, ivory, black, grey and chrome hardware options. According to Warren & Mahoney designer Jo Monaghan, the colour selection was one of the key reasons these blinds were specified for this project.

Offices in this building also feature Luxaflex Rollershades Extraflocke in Pebble. These block-out shades can be controlled manually, by chain control, or by fully automated remote control. Added versatility comes with a Linx roller system allowing multiple blinds to be connected to one drive. A twin roller option has two blinds over one window, one acting as a sunscreen, the other providing blockout.
