Architectural innovation ensures the interior of the Poche Centre has plenty of visual impact, but it's the materials that make it work.Keystone Acoustics provided custom-designed and manufactured Key-Lena MDF acoustic panels to walls and ceilings throughout the centre. The panels, which are perforated and shaped to meet the architect's specifications, include curved, slotted ceiling panels. As well as meeting the decorative requirements, the Key-Lena panels absorb sound to provide a comfortable environment for patients and staff. Marketing manager Catherine Lewocki says that while the panels in this project have a paint finish, Key-Lena panels are also available in timber grain, metallic and pearl finishes."The perforations can be customised with either slots or patterns to suit any application or to fit with a corporate look," she says. "This means they not only have a functional role, but also form a vital part of the overall aesthetic."Key-Lena panels can be used with the Rondo suspended ceiling and drywall systems and the Smartfix fixing system. Other acoustic panels available from Keystone include Key-Eclipse, a fire retardant MDF, Key-Ply plywood, Key-Board plasterboard, Key-Endura fibre cement and Key-Kompress compressed fibre cement.
