Site offices for the Poche Centre project were provided by Royal Wolf Australia
Like many urban construction sites, the Poche Centre building site was tight, with minimal space for construction offices. The problem was exacerbated by the three-storey excavation required to build the centre.
Royal Wolf Australia provided a highly workable solution for the site offices 15 refurbished shipping containers, which were anchored to large piles at the side of the excavation. Walkways were suspended from the offices.
National building and construction manager Andrew Strachan says the platform the offices sit on is exactly the same width as the containers.
"Space is often at a premium on construction sites, but the narrow shape of the containers means they can be used in tight situations the footprint of the site offices can be minimised. The office space doesn't have to be compromised, however. The containers can be double stacked, as in this project, or even triple stacked. Royal Wolf's buildings, hoardings and stacking solutions are all independently engineered and certified."
Strachan says Royal Wolf has a specialist modifications team that can fit out a site office or storage container to suit specific requirements.
