It may be hard to conceive of anything better than an open fire on a cold winter's night, but modern technology has improved on a traditional favourite
There was a time when certain concessions had to be made for high-rise apartment living, such as foregoing a fireplace. Modern technological advances, however, have meant that this simple pleasure is once again available to all.
Environmental concerns too, have changed the face of home heating, says Jeff Collins, national sales manager for Real Flame.
"The health of our environment is one of the hottest topics of this century. People have become more conscious of the effects the products they use are having on the environment, and are calling for alternatives. At the same time, there still has to be an emphasis on aesthetics."
