With its distinctive sail motif, Lumley Centre was conceived as a large-scale sculptural element for downtown Auckland

The tower's striking presence is largely due to the eye-catching blue facade, and the extensive use of glass feature elements.

Woods Glass offers a broad range of glazing skills within the commercial glass industry, from customising frameless glass assemblies, skylights and internal partitioning through to commercial facade construction, as with Lumley Centre.

General manager Matthew Harris outlines the work carried out by his company on this project.

"We designed, engineered and installed the facade for the level 9 main entry podium, installing structural glass elements, automatic doors, manual pivoting doors and a revolving door unit," says Harris. "In terms of the greater exterior, we worked closely with Thermosash Commercial to create the external facade, the roof glazing and the rotunda windows."
