FASCINATION STREET
Many interiors feature durable Resene surfaces
PERHAPS THE most immediate impact of the various Nuffield Street interiors comes from the sense of space and vibrancy achieved by the paint surfaces.
The interiors shown here feature colours from the Resene range of paints. Resene Zylone 20 tinted to Resene Red Berry was used for the Wagamama restaurant interiors, while Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen tinted to Resene Black White provides a crisp, clean backdrop for the Sony offices' minimalist, contemporary decor. The latter paint choice also brings out the vibrancy of a vivid orange carpet running the length of these offices.
Resene marketing manager Karen Warman says Resene Zylone 20 has a flat, suede-like acrylic finish, well suited to broadwall public areas.
"This paint's individual combination of resins and pigments produces a smooth, flat film," she says. "Resene Zylone 20's ease of application and durability made it an appropriate choice for the bustling restaurant. This is a low odour, Environmental Choice product."
The Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen used for the Sony fit-out is a waterborne enamel that also combines durability with low odour and easy clean-up. The low sheen means any surface imperfections are minimised.
"Our Resene Total Colour System makes it easy to choose the right colour for a project," says Warman. "This includes a range of colour tools to simplify colour selection, including fandecks with complementary colour suggestions on the back of each chip."
