For many decades, the world has looked to Europe for design trends be it fashion, furniture, cars or kitchens. The owners of this kitchen were no exception. But, after careful research, they decided to work with Best Buy Cabinets in San Francisco Bay Area, California.

David Melamed, designer and founder of Best Buy Cabinets, says the owners wanted an inviting, European-style kitchen, without the associated high price tag. And they didn't want to wait up to five months for their new kitchen.

The solution from Melamed and his design team was a gourmet, Italian-style, open-plan kitchen that fits with the homeowners' busy lifestyle. The Shaker-inspired, cherry wood doors and formaldehyde-free plywood cabinets did not cost a fortune, and were delivered within eight weeks, says Melamed.

The focal point of the kitchen is an intricate island with two sinks, two dishwashers, plenty of storage, and a two-tier granite and glass countertop.
