Entertaining the idea

Eye-catching surfaces are instrumental in determining the overall ambiance of a home. For this project, the marble and granite tiles and countertops specified for the kitchen and bathrooms were installed by Granite World a company that specializes in high-end projects.

General manager Gordon Sarret says the company worked in close consultation with Kenny Kuykendall on the bathroom tile selections and wall layouts.

"As with most custom homes, it was a complex job, which necessitated a number of individual solutions for each area," he says.

The bathroom shown above features Rosso Damascus marble on the countertops and tub surround. The shower walls are French limestone.

"The tile designs are effectively the art for each bathroom," says Sarret. "Each room has a distinctly different feel, but all the surfaces complement each other for a free-flowing uniformity."
