Entertaining the idea
With its flowing interior and strong indoor-outdoor connection, this new home by Intrepid Development takes the best elements of Tuscan architecture and adapts them to the Las Vegas lifestyle
One of the most distinctive elements that reinforces the Tuscan look of the home is the clay tile roofing. The Roofing Company installed a 50/50 blend of Palermo and Newport tiles from US Clay Tiles.
Mike Coddington, The Roofing Company residential estimator, says tiles in the two colors were mixed on site to create a natural, aged effect. To further enhance this look, the roofing incorporates 30% mudded field boost tiles. These tiles are layered on top of existing tiles, using a old roof-patching technique pioneered in Mexico.
Coddington says the complex roof design also added to the challenge of the job. The tiles used on the roof shown above are Mission S clay tiles with a two-piece eave line.
The Roofing Company has been working in Las Vegas for more than 40 years, and undertakes all types of roofing projects. The company also provides the Roof Guard maintenance program.
"We take a lot of pride in our roofs and like to see them well maintained," says Coddington.
