Feeling left out of the loop? In these times of prefabricated kitchens, even architects and interior designers sometimes lament a lack of choice in kitchen components.

To this end environmentally responsible design pioneers, Valcucine, developed a modular system that gives architects, designers and homeowners an extensive palette, as well as over 2.5 million components to choose from.

Valcucine New York owner, Brian Jevremov, says Valcucine products show that design, and responsibility to kitchen users and the global environment need not be mutually exclusive.

With an emphasis on technology, Valcucine creates products with a long-term view. All products carry a five-year guarantee, and new products are designed to work with existing models.

"This gives architects, interior designers and end users enormous design and pricing versatility," says Jevremov.

Jevremov says Valcucine's signature cabinet door, the Ricicla, uses 80% less material than cabinet doors from other producers, and all material is recycled. Ricicla doors combine an aluminum frame with a micro-thin panel. Panels can be finished in wood veneers for a traditional look, or numerous other finishes.

Structural technology means that using a minimum of material and energy does not compromise the strength and durability of any kitchen components.

To counter any environmental effects from the manufacturing process, Valcucine follow a system of planting twice as many trees than would be needed to absorb their yearly CO2 output.
