Features tub chairs & a solid Victorian ash dining table from the Phoenix Collection The solid, enduring design of the house is echoed in the furniture selection. Masonry Design Solutions commissioned interior designers from Bos Design to select a furniture range that would enhance the semi-classical lines.Bos Design concept design consultant Sarah Malyon says the furniture is from both existing and new collections."The furniture needed to bridge the gap between very modern and traditional," she says. "There is a growing market for smart, formal-looking pieces that are not too traditional in character. People are avoiding design gimmicks, preferring furniture that has a simple, yet sophisticated look. For this reason, the new collections are reminiscent of classic styles, but the shapes have been simplified and given a modern twist."The dining room in this home features a solid Victorian ash table from the new Phoenix collection. This is paired with tub chairs in Mokum Strata fabric. View of the family room "These chairs are also well suited to smaller apartments, being comfortable enough to provide extra lounge seating when required," says Malyon.Leather furniture sets the scene in the formal living room in the new house. Here, a Bos Cologne settee, chaise and ottoman are finished in Caramel full-grain leather."The settee is paired with black Carlo chairs for an up-to-the-minute look," says Malyon. "Black is a good accent colour, that works well with warm neutrals."The Carlo chairs, while similar to the Cologne suite, have smaller proportions, again making them suitable for rooms where space may be at a premium.
