Elevated status
With products from leading European designers such as Philippe Starck, Andree Putman, Gio Ponti, and Arne Jacobsen, Hastings Tile & Bath Collection puts the bathroom on a pedestal
The humble bathroom has come of age. No longer the last room to be considered during a remodeling project, today's bathroom may well be a personal oasis with a strong design emphasis.
The increasing interest in designer bathrooms is reflected in the products carried by Hastings Tile & Bath Collection. The company specializes in contemporary European bathroom design, and carries an extensive array of imported products, from tiles and glass mosaics to vanity cabinets, tubs and accessories.
CEO and president Michael Homola says the company represents many leading European designers, including Philippe Starck, Andree Putman, Matteo Thun, Gio Ponti, Ruben Toledo, Tord Boontje and Arne Jacobsen.
"Homeowners today have increasingly sophisticated tastes," says Homola. "They are interested in the latest design trends and products that combine form and function in innovative ways."
Homola says current trends indicate two distinct styles are finding favor.
"Crisp, clean lines are very much in demand for spa-like retreats. Other clients like to make a personal statement, opting for bathrooms with an infusion of color.
"We are also seeing a strong demand for luxurious fixtures, such as soaking tubs and multifunctional shower systems that can be customized to your liking. Innovative new showerheads are other items creating a great deal of interest."
Hastings Tile & Bath Collection showrooms present many of these products in realistic bathroom settings, so you can get an idea of how they could look in your own home. You can also see working showerheads, body sprayers and hand showers. Hastings design consultants are trained to help with the entire selection process.
Hastings Tile and Bath Collection has a long history, dating back to its parent company Hastings Pavement, formed in 1885. One of this company's first commissions was to produce the hexagonal asphalt pavers that were installed around the entire perimeter of Central Park. The company also provided pavers for the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building.
