Ecologically sound
From the bottom up, this Sydney office building has been designed and constructed with care for the environment in mind

W ith increased demand for workplace flexibility and diminishing construction content, rooms need to be adaptable for alternative uses and to accommodate large and small meetings. Whittaker Hadenham Openshaw (WHO) achieved this in the meeting areas of 30 The Bond by installing Rintoul operable walls.
In keeping with Bovis Lend Lease's desire to use environmentally friendly materials, WHO chose natural, reconstituted cork products for the finished cladding. This also achieved another key design element the need for surfaces suitable for pinning materials onto.

The Level 9 operable wall featured on this page is a mixture of the Variflex solid operable wall and a Varitans pivoted glass door.
Rintoul overcame the challenge of using two different track and trolley systems by adapting the glass operable wall suspension to accept the solid operable wall trolley. This enables the glass door to travel along the solid operable wall track into the stacking bay.
