Ecologically sound
From the bottom up, this Sydney office building has been designed and constructed with care for the environment in mind
Perforated ceilings contribute greatly to the aesthetic appearance of the interior at 30 The Bond, while also accommodating the chilled beam air-conditioning system that helped the building achieve its five-star greenhouse rating.
As part of the process of designing the ceiling system, Fricker Ceiling Systems, in conjunction with Bovis Lend Lease, developed a series of metal pan ceiling tiles specially perforated to allow for the smooth flow of air from the chilled beams situated above the ceiling. The tiles were then incorporated into the company's Two Way Access ceiling system.
Each tile sits flush with the supporting aluminium suspension, eliminating shadows and disruptions between the tile and grid.
In keeping with the Bond's environmental credentials, the tiles were manufactured from steel with a 25% recycled content.
Fricker Ceiling Systems designs and supplies complete ceiling systems for all types of commercial buildings, from new CBD office towers and refurbishments to campus style business parks.
