The vanity top is also a feature element, made in Bengal black stone with specially designed grooves that create a rock edge. The freestanding bath has its own tumbled natural stone wall, with a long-recessed shelving niche behind the bath. The TIDA judges felt the designer has overcome the inherent challenges this space presented, while its variety of textural surfaces, accent lighting and curvaceous fittings illustrate some of the major trends in New Zealand bathroom design.
