The clients wanted a large home with four bedrooms and abundant open living space. They also required a pool, outdoor living and landscaping, all of which had to comply with strict height and bulk regulations a difficult task with such a large floor plan.

Graeme Alexander Homes addressed this by using a low roof, stepped to maximise height around the upper floor's living zones.

The home is single storey at the eastern end, while the area at the front, facing west, is double storey. The lower level offers direct access to the pool and outdoor living areas.

Children's bedrooms are on the top level, along with the master bedroom, central kitchen, scullery and bathroom all under the raised roof. The three living zones comprise a rumpus room to the rear, and the living and family rooms, separated by the dining area at the front.

Large balconies upstairs allow for relaxed outdoor living, and a deck to the rear of the house offers wind protection and morning sun, while maintaining views through the home.

Natural rock and copper finishes enhance the home's aesthetic appeal and help it blend with the environment. A brick wall acts as a wind break and brings privacy to the pool area.
