Whatever the color, cabinetry style, detailing and work surface desired,Plain & Fancy Custom Cabinetry creates each kitchen by hand

No matter what style of cabinetry a client requests, two fundamentals always apply. First, a sense of the big picture is needed what is the desired visual impact of the space? Second, understanding the importance of how the space will work functionally mindful that longevity lies in the hand-crafted details.
Plain & Fancy Custom Cabinetry began as a family business 41 years ago creating hand-crafted, hand-rubbed cabinets. The company has evolved over the years and now specializes in creating cabinetry in an array of styles, layouts and finishes, says president George Butch Achey.
"We work on modern, traditional and transitional projects, and use classic carpentry techniques to build solid and enduring finished products," says Achey.
The Plain & Fancy approach is to offer broad choices for homeowners and designers, enabling them to make a design statement that is theirs alone. Cabinet doors range from formal styles such as the Berkshire, to the understated Transition, to custom, one-of-a-kind doors.

Cabinetry can be built with frames, a style popular in America, or without, following recent European trends. All drawers are supplied with dovetail joints.
Wood selections include beech, maple, walnut, cherry and quarter-sawn red oak, to name only a few. A wide variety of finishes enhances the grain and luster of the wood there is no such thing as a standard finish.
In addition, Plain & Fancy Custom Cabinetry creates cabinetry using a spectrum of modern materials and accents. Glazed enamels, stainless steel, and high-gloss acrylics are just some of the company's more contemporary surfaces.
The company offers 100 standard paint colors, and limitless custom variations.

"It is our meticulous attention to every detail of the cabinetry that has enhanced the company's reputation," says Achey. "For a classic project, this might include the use of mesh panels and hand-crafted cornices, for example, while a modern design will most likely reflect the latest industry trends, such as a back-painted glass backsplash and metal highlights."
Top-of-the-range hardware elements are an integral part of the company's comprehensive design focus. Blumotion® soft-close fittings are standard on all Plain & Fancy cabinetry. Interior storage solutions such as cutlery drawers, spice racks and recycling centers, are fully integrated into the cabinets as specified by designers and homeowners.
