Designer touch Smeg appliances
Carolyn Cavanough specifies Smeg appliances
When a designer goes shopping for appliances for her own kitchen, you can be sure she has done her homework.
And that was exactly what designer Carolyn Cavanough of Desire Beauty did for her own new kitchen.
The designer had already specified a mix of polyurethaned cabinets, including a new textural coating in a soft grey tone on a bank of cabinets along the wall. To complement these, she chose appliances from the Smeg Linear collection.
"I spoke to a lot of people about their appliances and Smeg was always highly recommended," Cavanough says. "I also love the look of the Linear range. I chose a Stopsol Supersilver glass front for the steam and combi ovens, which have a soft, refined look. These appliances and the coffee machine are more like a work of art than a conventional appliance, which you might prefer to hide beneath the bench."
The designer also says she appreciates the multifunctionality of the ovens, which always cook true to recipes, and her new Smeg induction cooktop, which fits the very sleek profile of the new kitchen.
"I am really enjoying finding out how the steam oven and induction cooktop work and what they can do. These are the appliances of the future."
Cavanough also specified the Smeg Horizon 90cm dishwasher and says she loves the improved ergonomics.
