Every once in a while, a new product comes along that catches the imagination of architects, designers and homeowners alike. Many decades ago the first laminates created such a buzz. Today, a new premium surface material is in the spotlight.

Laminex® Freestyle¢ Surfaces offer something different for bathrooms, kitchens and laundries. Manufactured from a blend of natural minerals and pure acrylic resins, Freestyle Surfaces provide considerable design flexibility, says Amanda Saunders, marketing communications manager of The Laminex Group.

"The surfaces can be moulded, shaped and specified to any thickness," she says. "The seamless joins are virtually invisible."

The collection of 20 Freestyle Surfaces features six newly released colours and finishes, including the icy matt Glacier, a semi-translucent white, the pale grey satin Crystal Angelica, and chunky textural looks, such as Tahini and Terra Nova. Other options mix subtle matt and gloss self-stripes.

Amanda Saunders says Freestyle Surfaces have been specially engineered for high performance.

"The non-porous surfaces are heat-, scratch- and stain-resistant, and easy to clean. In addition, the solid composition means that even after many years, the surfaces can be easily renewed or repaired if needed."
