A laboratory research centre needs resilient walls and floors. For the Bio21 facility, the designers specified Armstrong products
Laboratories, with their wide array of chemicals, can be dangerous places, which is why hard-wearing, easy-to-maintain floors and walls are essential.
This was one of the reasons the designers of Bio21 specified Armstrong Contour for the laboratory floors, and Armstrong Wallflex for wall covering, says Rob McLorinan, marketing and strategic accounts manager for Armstrong World Industries.
"Armstrong products are often used in large commercial projects, here in Australia and overseas, as they are fire resistant and long-lasting. Importantly, we can offer continuity of supply, and we also operate extensive recycling schemes."
More than 8000m² of Armstrong Contour and 1000m² of Armstrong Wallflex were installed in the facility.
"Armstrong Contour is a homogenous floorcovering with a distinctive chip design. The finely graduated shades of grey provide a background for the high-contrast speckled pattern, giving an architectural touch to the extreme performance requirements needed in this setting."
Armstrong Wallflex is a durable, hygienic wallcovering, resistant to scratching and denting, that provides a seamless coating for laboratory interiors.
