Design e la carte
Every kitchen presents its own design challenges, which is why the skills of award-winning Wellington designer Pauline Stockwell are well recognised
Anew kitchen is a major investment, so it makes sense to talk to an expert. An experienced kitchen designer, who is also a member of the NKBA, can provide innovative solutions to any design challenge.
Pauline Stockwell, CKDNZ, is an award-winning Wellington designer with all the right credentials and the experience to help you achieve the look you want for your home.
For the project shown above left, Stockwell replaced a basic kitchen that had a poor layout and dated cabinetry.
"The new kitchen needed to better suit the style of the house, its location and the client's lifestyle," she says.
Removing a door and closing in a wall allowed a galley-style kitchen with plenty of space for work areas. An inefficientcorner pantry was also replaced by a pantry with drawer slides that maximise all the available space. Centralising the oven and hob also allows two people to work in the kitchen at the same time.
Symmetrical cabinets featuring Aluminium and White laminates are designed to be sympathetic to the view. A glass splashback, open shelving, aluminium handles and customised lighting also enhance the overall aesthetic.
