Local knowledge is an inestimable advantage for any business especially when it comes to expediting the resolution of any difficulties.

The featured property is a prime example of how Graham Jones Design was able to work with local authorities to overcome obstacles to achieve the client's brief for an expansive home that maximised sea views, as well as indoor and outdoor entertaining.

"A steep, narrow, subdivided site with strict covenants posed many challenges, particularly in the siting of a six-car garage," says general manager David Hammond. "The problem was resolved when council approved the excavation for the garage under the required set-back at the front of the property, to the delight of all parties. Establishing close working relationships with clients, contractors and local authorities is key to Graham Jones Design's philosophy.

"Graham Jones Design was first established in 1988 to service the residential market on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula," says Hammond. "However, since that time the company has also opened in Hallam and has become one of the most recognised names around Australia for its innovative contemporary designs."
