Invisible joins, a choice of edge treatments, inlays and sink mounting are all viable options with Hi-Macs acrylic solid surfaces
Architects often have to overcome many obstacles to achieve their design. A restrictive footprint, budget constraints, plumbing and many other variables can influence the choice of materials.
An innovative acrylic solid surface from Gunnersens Inspirations is providing a new level of design flexibility. Marketing executive Brooke Formosa says the design versatility of the new Hi-Macs Volcanics range allows clients to mould acrylic solid surfaces around areas where it is impractical or impossible to use stone.
Heat resistant, Hi-Macs acrylic surfaces can be moulded to any shape required. The Volcanics range is a cool-to-touch material that is perfect for kitchens splashbacks, sinks, waterfall edges, rubbish chutes or client designed edge treatments can be included in one seamless section.
The Hi-Macs range reproduces the aesthetic appeal of natural stone, but is manufactured from polymer resins, using the latest technological process.
"Hi-Macs acrylic solid surfaces are scratch-resistant, nonporous and repairable," says Formosa. "They make an ideal surface for a multitude of applications, including industrial or domestic use."
