Contemporary windows and doors complement the design of this new home
Windows and doors in this modern family home feature the bold, chunky profiles of Fairview System's Fairview Architectural series
The importance of the right choice of windows and doors on a home cannot be overstated. They're the jewellery to the facade of your prime asset while inside they frame the views. Then there's the smooth day-to-day operation of opening your interiors to the surroundings.
This modern family residence is an excellent case in point. Constructed by Penny Homes, the Canterbury home benefits from the distinctive flat profile and crisp, clean lines of the Fairview Architectural series. The series was supplied and installed by one of Fairview's specialist fabricators GA Aluminium.
Angela Lewis for GA Aluminium says Penny Homes specified the Architectural series because it delivers a consistent look throughout, regardless of the various window and door sizes.
And this was particularly important in a design where both the windows and doors have such visual prominence.
"A 9-metre, bi-parting stacker door leading to the pool creates magnificent indoor-outdoor flow," says Lewis. "And the home's dramatic raking windows line up with the contemporary internal cathedral-style ceilings and roof line.
"Solace low e glass from Glass Relate makes the most of the wealth of natural light flooding the interior, as it works to let the sun's heat in while also preventing it from escaping."
